 Maareesan (2025)

Fahadh Faasil plays Dhaya / Dhayalan, a small-time thief just out of Pazayamkottai prison, who believes some houses “call out” to be robbed. One night he breaks into an old man’s home in Kanyakumari, only to find Velayudham Pillai (Vadivelu) chained up and suffering from Alzheimer’s. Thinking this is his lucky break, Dhaya agrees to help Velan with trivial tasks — but soon finds that Velan’s bank account holds far more money than expected.


What follows is a road-journey: Dhaya offers to escort Velan on a trip across Tamil Nadu. Along the way, Dhaya’s initial scheme to take advantage of Velan gets complicated by unexpected emotional connections, moral dilemmas, and both men confronting truths about themselves.
